Set the size and create your PDF
Aspect ratio stays locked: changing one dimension adjusts the other.
The print dialog opens. Choose “Actual size” or scale 100%, with “Fit to page” off.
Your PDF is ready
- Print at “Actual size” or 100%, with “Fit to page” off.
- Check the 50 mm line with a ruler before trimming or gluing.
- An image with few pixels will look blurry if you enlarge it a lot.
When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”, A4 paper and turn off “Fit to page”. Check the 50 mm line with a ruler.
For posters: follow the rows and columns, trim along the dashed lines and glue the repeated area. Crop marks and page numbers guide you.
How the image is split
The tool cuts the image into a grid of rows and columns. Each A4 sheet has a 10 mm margin, a bottom strip with the sheet number and a 50 mm line to check the scale. Neighbouring sheets share 5 mm of overlap, which you can change.
A 40 × 60 cm poster takes 9 sheets (3 × 3) and a 60 × 90 cm poster takes 16 (4 × 4). You choose the size; the height follows the image proportions so nothing is stretched.
How to put it together
Print at 100%, with “Actual size” on. Trim the white margins on the sheets that touch, follow the numbers and glue each sheet over the repeated strip. Start with the top row and work down.
A little masking tape on the back helps you line things up before gluing for real.
What it is good for
Bedroom posters, party decorations, murals you want to trace, or large plans. For a very large poster, pick an image with several million pixels: a small photo will show squares.

FAQ
How many A4 sheets does a poster need?
It depends on the size. A 40 × 60 cm poster needs 9 sheets and a 60 × 90 cm poster needs 16. The preview shows the exact number before you create the PDF.
How much overlap should I leave?
5 mm is enough to glue without gaps. If your printer trims more of the edge, raise it to 10 mm.
Will the joins show?
A little, because each sheet has a white margin to trim. With good glue and the overlap lined up, the seams are hard to see from a distance.
