What TotPDF does
TotPDF covers the everyday PDF jobs. You can merge several PDFs into one, split a PDF into pages, extract the pages you need, reorder, rotate or delete pages, add page numbers or a text watermark, and turn a PDF into PNG or JPG images or JPG and PNG images into a PDF.
It also compresses PDFs, protects them with a 256-bit AES password, removes printing and copying restrictions, signs them with a drawn or photographed signature, and edits them: you can draw, highlight, add arrows, rectangles and text, and fill in form fields.
How it is different
Most online PDF services send your file to a server. TotPDF does the work in your browser with open-source libraries, so the document stays on your computer or phone. There is no account to create, no daily quota and no payment plan, and the site has no analytics, ads or trackers.
The server only receives the normal requests needed to load the website and may log connection data such as the IP address. It does not receive your files or their file names.
What it does not do
TotPDF has no OCR and does not rewrite the existing text of a PDF. Edit PDF adds drawings, text and form entries on top of the page. Sign PDF adds an image of your signature, not a certificate-based digital signature, so check what the recipient requires.
Changing a PDF can invalidate a digital signature, and merging or extracting pages can lose forms, bookmarks and links. Keep the original and check the result before you send it.
Who is behind it
TotPDF is a personal project by Siddharta Navarro, an AI consultant in Catalonia. One person builds and maintains it. It is a sister project to TotImages, an image converter, and to minusculasmayusculas.com, a Spanish case converter. The code is public on GitHub.
