Keeps text, links and bookmarks. Images are reduced to 150 dpi.
Before you start
- Balanced and Strong reduce image size and keep selectable text; a text-only PDF may change very little.
- Maximum reduces images to 72 ppi: for screens, not for printing. It keeps text, links and bookmarks.
- If the result is not smaller, we return the original.
- A compressed copy may invalidate the PDF’s digital signatures.
- Zoom in to check small text and image details before sending it.
- Keep the original if you need to verify a signature.
Why the form rejects it
Spain's online government portals limit the size of each attached document. The form states its own limit, often next to the attach button. What weighs is almost always the scanned pages or the photos taken with your phone, not the text.
How to shrink it
- Choose the PDF in the box above. The Balanced level is already selected.
- Press Compress PDF and check the final size.
- If it is still over the limit, try again with Strong.
- If it is a long scan and you do not need to copy the text, Maximum shrinks the most.
Before sending it
Open the result and zoom into stamps, handwritten signatures and small print. A document that is hard to read can be sent back to you. If the procedure asks for a digitally signed PDF, do not compress it: any change invalidates the signature.
If it is still too big
Check whether every page is needed and remove the rest with Organize pages. You can also split it into two documents if the form accepts more than one attachment. The document never leaves your device.

Common questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. PDFs are processed on your device. We do not receive or store your files or their names. The server receives normal requests to load the website. TotPDF keeps no access or error logs of its own. This version has no analytics, advertising or trackers. Tools like iLovePDF, Smallpdf or PDF24 send files to their servers and delete them after one or two hours. TotPDF processes them in your browser: they are never uploaded.
Is it free? Is there a daily limit?
Yes. There is no daily limit, per-document quota or paid plan. Run successive batches as needed. Safety limits are 150 MB per file, 500 pages for rendering and 25 million pixels per page. Available memory may impose lower limits.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in modern browsers. A computer often has more memory for large documents. Keep the tab open during processing and check the PDF before sending it.
